Welcome Houses
Refugees arrive in our country everyday from war ravaged parts of our globe. They are fleeing violence being perpetrated against them because of their gender, ethnicity, political affiliation, and/or religious background. Welcomes Houses is an ecumenical response working to offer hospitality to what the Scriptures call sojourners into the safety of our country by providing homes to house them initially and then setting them up in their own home soon thereafter. Last year, one was established here in the Mt. Zion Association. The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of NC works in the Triangle area and Lutheran World Relief works in the Triad. By providing hospitality, we not only offer provision to those without anything, but also open the door to sharing the living hope of the Gospel.
